SOS Children’s Village was established in India over 50 years ago and since then they have helped over 25,000 children in 32 SOS Villages who find comfort and solace in families. Being loved and wanted is a very important part of everyone’s childhood and parentless children seldom get to experience that. SOS Children’s Village helps in bringing the children from disaster struck and prone areas and have also worked at the grass root level to strengthen families and reduce abandonment and neglect.

They work with these unfortunate children providing them with family support and shelter up until the age of 24. The SOS Villages have a mother who is the primary caretaker and provider along with brothers and sisters who make sure the kids grow up in a healthy environment of belonging.

How can your contribution help?

SOS Children’s Village has two flagship programs for parentless children that you can pitch in and make a difference:

i) Family Based Care (FBC): This program reaches out to 6500 boys and girls in 32 SOS Villages across India. It provides the children with SOS Mothers who take care of their education, nutrition and other factors required for a holistic growth.

ii) Family Strengthening Program (FSP): This program prevents abandonment of kids especially from slums, children with single parents and children from Below Poverty Line families. This program spans over 5 years and helps families come out of poverty line by providing them with sustainable income practices while helping the children get proper education and access to medical services etc. You can sponsor a child with just Rs 900/month, Rs 10,800 for the year, and sponsor his/her education at Rs 21,600 a year.
